Ms. Amy Pokorny

About Me

Hello! I'm Amy Pokorny, currently a 6th-grade math teacher at Gretna Middle School in Gretna, Nebraska. Alongside my role in education, I bring a diverse set of skills and experiences to the table. With a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master of Science in Education in Learning, Design, and Technology: Instructional Technology, my educational journey has equipped me with a well-rounded perspective.

In my ongoing role in hospitality for over a decade, I continue to cultivate valuable skills such as time management, organization, and attention to detail. These skills seamlessly integrate into my teaching approach, contributing to a dynamic and well-structured classroom environment. My passion for fostering a positive learning atmosphere is deeply rooted in my personal journey overcoming math difficulties.

Outside of my professional pursuits, I find joy in reading, outdoor games, and keeping up with the latest shows on Netflix. This diverse set of interests, coupled with strong problem-solving skills, allows me to navigate both personal and professional challenges with ease. Through the synthesis of my skills and experiences, I aim to bring vibrancy and engagement to my interactions with students and the broader community.
